We’re pioneering the cloud, the next big frontier in the FinTech revolution. Saket Sharma, BNY Mellon CIO for Treasury Services, shares his views.
Banks and other financial market participants, many of which have been slow to move to web-based technology, including the cloud, are now realizing the imperative and adopting this new way of operating. BNY Mellon began its journey several years ago, with the creation of its own private cloud, called BNY Mellon Extreme Platform (BXP) and today is exploring ways to make the public cloud part of its strategy.
Saket Sharma, BNY Mellon Chief Information Officer for Treasury Services, who is helping BNY Mellon pioneer the next big frontier in the FinTech revolution, says: “While many large companies gravitate towards a public cloud provider, for us, the logical starting point was to build a private cloud, which we host in our own data centers. Now, as technology is advancing and many of our concerns about privacy and security are being addressed, it makes sense to bring the public cloud into our strategy.”
