Chief Executive Officer, BNY Mellon Markets
Michelle Neal is CEO of BNY Mellon Markets, and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Since joining the firm in 2015, Ms Neal has embarked on a transformation of Markets, investing in leading technologies and a significant talent agenda as she builds out and integrates its trading, financing, collateral and liquidity management solutions.
Ms. Neal joined BNY Mellon from Deutsche Bank, where she served as global head of listed derivatives, markets clearing and fixed income market structure. She has also held senior leadership positions with Nomura International and Royal Bank of Scotland. Having begun her career as an analyst, she has successfully held senior management roles across electronic markets, clearing, listed derivatives and prime services.
Ms. Neal has served as a non-executive board director in leading market infrastructure companies, trading platforms and trade associations for the financial services industry including OTC Derivnet (LCH Swapclear), IHS Markit, MTS Spa, Tradeweb and the Futures Industry Association (FIA). She sits on the board of BNY Mellon Government Securities Clearing Corporation, the GFMA (Global Financial Markets Association) and the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC).
A graduate of Suffolk University's Sawyer School of Management and a citizen of the U.S. and the U.K., Ms. Neal is based at BNY Mellon’s headquarters in New York.
