Global Head of Real Estate Fund Services
Dermot leads the bank’s services to real estate fund managers globally. His role includes overseeing BNY Mellon’s real estate strategy, product considerations and client experience in line with our Alternatives business’ global vision.
Dermot has extensive operational and technology experience, implementing complex fund launches and conversions with senior oversight. He has led numerous technology projects, across vendor technology and BNY Mellon internal systems.
Dermot is also part of the Irish Funds Real Estate Working Group, driving operational and fund structuring improvements in Ireland. Additionally Dermot is a part of BNY Mellon’s Alternatives Executive Steering committee and EMEA Operating Committee.
Dermot has held past roles in BNY Mellon as the Global CAO and led both Deutsche Bank and PGIM Real Estate transactions, transitioning over 150 staff across two transactions into BNY Mellon under an outsourcing arrangement. Dermot is also the project owner for the Yardi implementation in EMEA and the regulatory considerations required.
Dermot joined BNY Mellon in 2012 and prior to this he worked with PwC in London and Dublin in financial services consulting, specifically focused on private equity and real estate. Dermot is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
