In This New Role He Will Focus on Serving the Complex Planning Needs of Ultra Wealthy Clients
NEW YORK and PITTSBURGH, January 23, 2012 — BNY Mellon’s wealth management business has promoted Gregory Simpson to the new position of family wealth advisor, part of a specialist team of experts who work with ultra high net worth families and family offices. Effective March 1, Simpson will report to 25-year veteran Ridgway Powell, who late last year was promoted to lead this group.

Simpson is based in Pittsburgh and has 20 years of experience in financial services. He has been with BNY Mellon since 1999, most recently as a portfolio management team leader. Prior to joining BNY Mellon Simpson was a vice president and regional manager for Western Pennsylvania at Sterling Ltd., a unit of National City Corp. He earned an undergraduate degree in economics and finance from Clarion University in Pennsylvania, an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and holds the CFA designation.
