The Top 50 Rising Star awards are the first to focus on the UK’s female talent pipeline below management level. These awards will recognize and celebrate 50 female individual contributors across 10 different industries who represent the leaders and role models of tomorrow.
BNY Mellon and Newton Investment Management are sponsoring the category "Rising Stars in Investment Management."
Commenting on the awards, Michael Cole-Fontayn, EMEA Chairman at BNY Mellon, said: “There is an incredible amount of positive debate and action taking place at senior management level in the UK in respect of gender parity. But a pipeline of strong female talent is needed at all levels for this to be sustainable. These awards recognize those who are rapidly rising up the ranks in their chosen field and will be our future inspirational leaders.”
Helena Morrissey, CEO of Newton, added: “We know why gender equality and broader diversity should be an integral part of business strategy. We also recognize that ‘today’ is important but understand that the ‘tomorrows’ are key to sustaining equality. Focusing on the talent pipeline, developing future female leaders and celebrating their successes are ways in which we can achieve this goal.”
The nominations opened for all categories on June 1, 2015 and are open until June 26, 2015. The winners will be announced on September 1, 2015. To learn more about the nomination process and how to nominate someone who you think is a rising star, please click here.
