BNY Mellon Asset Servicing’s Chief Administrative Officer Pete Rodriguez has received the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Executive of the Year Award. Pete was honored at the organization’s 2016 annual convention held early August in Grapevine, Texas.

Established in 1972, ALPFA was the first national Latino professional association in the U.S. Its mission: To empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the economy. ALPFA currently serves more than 72,000 professional and student members across the country. It aspires to be the business partner of choice for companies seeking to hire and develop Latino talent.

The Executive of the Year award is given to an individual who is a strong supporter of ALPFA within a corporate partner firm, who has promoted diversity within Corporate America or government, and has a strong personal interest in ALPFA’s mission.

“Pete’s heartfelt commitment to ALPFA and to diversity efforts within BNY Mellon makes him a most deserving recipient of this honor,” said Asset Servicing CEO Samir Pandiri. “For years, Pete has served as a trusted counsel to me and many others across the company. He’s contributed to our success both from an operational perspective as well as an industry champion for diversity and inclusion.

“Pete is a model for us all. We’re tremendously proud of him being named ALPFA Executive of the Year,” Samir added.

Pete is a member of BNY Mellon’s Diversity & Inclusion Operating Committee and sits on the Senior Leadership Council of ALPFA’s New York chapter. In addition to CAO, he’s a member of Asset Servicing’s Executive Committee and the firm’s Operating Committee. Pete has been featured in Hispanic Executive Magazine, Latino Leaders Magazine, and was recognized as a Council of Urban Professionals ‘Catalyst for Change’ in 2015.

BNY Mellon has been an ALPFA corporate partner for six years and employs several hundred ALPFA members across the country, including local chapter presidents in Pittsburgh and Wilmington, Delaware.
