Meet Debora

A Day in the Life at BNY Mellon

"I’m an optimist, and I want to continue being engaged in having a positive impact on the company, our clients and colleagues."

Faces of BNY Mellon: Debora

We believe the greatest investment we make is in our people. Get to know the men and women who make BNY Mellon a world-class financial institution. Meet Debora, Head of Corporate Marketing for Latin America.

My Role

I’m Head of Corporate Marketing for Latin America, where I oversee all BNY Mellon marketing activities throughout the region. Together with my team, we develop, manage and execute strategies that enhance the BNY Mellon brand in Latin America. This involves creating compelling communications, promoting business events and driving projects that increase BNY Mellon’s recognition among our local target audiences.

A Day in My Life

One of the things that I really like about my job is that there’s no routine. In marketing, one day you’re coordinating a big event with many clients, the next you’re working on an important new thought leadership piece, and then you’re developing digital strategy and content for the company’s website. It’s all so diverse and exciting! Also, being based in a region, as opposed to company headquarters in New York, puts you in a position where you have to wear many hats. This generalist characteristic makes my days quite dynamic, and gives me the opportunity to interact with different business lines, diverse clients and talented colleagues from around the world, which is really enriching.

"I see myself driving change and leading cross-functional teams to deliver excellence in everything we do."

Three Things That Surprised Me After I Started Working at BNY Mellon

  • The complexity of BNY Mellon’s business.
  • The sheer size of our institution, its many business lines, and the vast number of clients we serve in various segments of investments.
  • That I would speak to so many diverse people around the world.

Where I want to be in 5 years

I see myself driving change and leading cross-functional teams to deliver excellence in everything we do. I’m an optimist, and I want to continue being engaged in having a positive impact on the company, our clients and colleagues.
