Joseph Pizzuto

Joseph Pizzuto is Chief Auditor of BNY Mellon and a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Joe leads our Internal Audit group to ensure the strength, effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s internal controls system.
Before joining BNY Mellon in 2023, Joe served as chief audit executive for some of the world’s largest organizations including General Motors, GE Capital and Citibank N.A. He has been a leader in modernizing the audit function, driving operational efficiency and efficacy through data analytics and innovative digital capabilities. Joe has extensive experience working with financial regulators across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
In the community Joe has led his teams in volunteer speaking and mentoring programs with high school seniors and supporting Volunteers of America, which provides families in need with meals, support and holiday gifts.
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting from City University of New York.
