Björn Storim is Chief Executive Officer of BNY Mellon's European bank, The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV, BNY Mellon’s largest banking subsidiary in EMEA.

 

Headquartered in Brussels, BNY Mellon’s European Bank operates through its nine branches in Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Spain.

 

Prior to this, he served as Head of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Central Eastern Europe, and was responsible for leading the delivery of BNY Mellon’s strategy in these markets.

 

Before joining BNY Mellon in 2020, Björn spent 16 years at Credit Suisse in London and Frankfurt, lastly serving in Country Management as Co-Speaker of the bank entity Credit Suisse (Deutschland) AG and Deputy Chairman of Credit Suisse’s Commercial Real Estate fund subsidiary in Germany.

 

From 1998 to 2004, Björn held several management roles within Global Markets at J.P Morgan, based in London and New York.

 

Björn studied Economics at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and at Loughborough University.

 

In 2003 he obtained the TRIUM Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Stern School of Business of New York University (NYU Stern), London School of Economics (LSE) in London and Haute Ecole Commerciale (HEC) in Paris.

 

Björn is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
