From India to Brazil, Joyetta Satiah is building a career and a personal brand that embodies collaboration.
What are some of the benefits of working for a company doing business in 100 markets across 35 countries? “For me, it’s about the opportunity to work with amazing colleagues around the world while developing my global acumen, general business savvy, multicultural awareness and more,” said BNY Mellon Financial Controller Joyetta Satiah. She’s accepted assignments in Pune and Chennai, India, and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - embodying collaboration in all three locations and beyond.
During her year in Pune, she helped with training and quality assurance of the reconciliation process; she took it upon herself to travel to other Asia Pacific offices to conduct the same review and share best practices with the local teams. Joyetta returned home to New York only briefly before accepting a six-month placement in Chennai, where she assisted in the transition of work to the Global Delivery Center, a high-priority project with important bottom-line impact. In Rio, she has taken on a two-year assignment to assist with a critical remediation plan and support process changes.
Joyetta earned recognition as a BNY Mellon Star for her highly productive collaborative nature and above-and-beyond contributions. Joyetta’s manager notes that her actions "demonstrate selflessness, team spirit and a true commitment to BNY Mellon’s clients and the company.”
