Kurt Woetzel is president of the BNY Mellon Markets Group, which includes the company’s Global Collateral Services (GCS), Global Markets, and Prime Services businesses. BNY Mellon's Global Collateral Services business offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities to help clients address their collateral, liquidity and securities financing needs. Global Markets includes the company’s foreign exchange, capital markets and derivatives trading businesses worldwide. Pershing Prime Services provides a comprehensive, integrated suite of global prime brokerage solutions backed by dedicated, high-touch service.
Prior to his current position, Kurt served as CEO of GCS. Mr. Woetzel has also served as the chief information officer, chief administrative officer and the global head of operations and technology for BNY Mellon.
Mr. Woetzel first joined The Bank of New York in 1985 in the broker-dealer business and in 1990 was named division head for the business. In 1995 he moved into corporate technology and held numerous roles and eventually was named the chief information officer in 2002.
Prior to joining The Bank of New York, Mr. Woetzel formed a technology start-up and managed the technology infrastructure for Adolph Coors Company.
Mr. Woetzel is a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee, the organization’s most senior management body. He is a former director of the boards of the Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) and the Government Securities Clearing Corp.
Mr. Woetzel is currently chair of the Payments Risk Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and a trustee of The New York Hall of Science.
