Shekar Pannala is Chief Information Officer of Enterprise Architecture and Engineering at BNY Mellon. In this capacity, Shekar provides the technology leadership overseeing Performance & Risk Analytics, Accounting Services, Fund Services, Transfer Agency, Investment Management Outsourcing, Alternative Investment Services and other technology-related aspects of the business.

Prior to his current role, Shekar served as CIO for Global Markets and enterprise eCommerce services. These responsibilities include managing the applications and development in support of FX, Derivatives, and Capital Markets, as well as managing all online Information delivery platforms across the organization including mobile channels.

Shekar joined The Bank of New York in 2006 as a Managing Director in Investor Services Technology organization responsible for Trade Capture, Reference Data, Performance, Risk and Information Delivery Systems.

Before joining BNY Mellon, Shekar was Senior Vice President at State Street Corp. During his close to 11 years at State Street, Shekar was responsible for Securities Lending Systems and Global Markets Equity Trading Systems. He also spearheaded State Street’s e-business architecture by building the core operating platform that included Single Signon and Security architecture, reporting infrastructure and Web architecture. He was also responsible for the development of client facing portal for State Street called, Performance and Analytics, compliance, risk and other value added products.

Prior to joining State Street, Shekar worked at IBM in their advanced technologies group and before that as a senior programmer.

Shekar has a B.S in Electronics and Communications with distinction, an advanced certification in Computer Science from National Center for Software Technology (NCST) in India and also completed Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School of Business.
