Sheila Papelbon is the U.S. Head of Business Development for Public-Not-For-Profit Sales and Southeast region. She has over 40 years’ experience serving public sector clients.
Her career in corporate trust began in 1980 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at American Bank. In 1990, Sheila was hired to manage First Union’s Corporate Trust Operation in the state of Florida and moved to Jacksonville. After four years at First Union, she then joined The Bank of New York in Jacksonville after their first acquisition of Barnett Bank’s Corporate Trust business. Sheila handled the next acquisitions for The Bank of New York which were in Louisiana, where she had worked for 10 years prior.
At The Bank of New York, Sheila managed the administration groups in the Southeast for eight years. In 2002, she moved into the Business Development area, where she has worked until present. She graduated with a B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1980 where she had a scholarship for softball. Sheila also earned the Certified Corporate Trust Specialist Designation in 1986.
In 2019, Sheila was selected as a finalist for the Bond Buyer’s Freda Johnson Award and was honored as a Trailblazing Woman in Public Finance for her contributions and achievements.
