Lawrence Hughes is a retired chief executive officer of BNY Mellon Wealth Management, which ranks among the top 10 U.S. wealth managers. BNY Mellon Wealth Management provides wealth planning, investment management and banking services to individuals and families, family offices, and charitable gift programs through a nationwide network of offices. BNY Mellon Wealth Management also has four locations in key international markets.

Mr. Hughes joined the firm in 1991 and served a variety of increasingly senior roles. He acted as president of U.S. Markets, responsible for all client and sales activities for the organization’s wealth management clients. Previous positions included serving as executive director of Eastern U.S. Markets, chief operating officer and head of portfolio management in the Northeast U.S. He also has served in various other management positions in portfolio management, trust and fixed income for the firm’s wealth management business.

Mr. Hughes received a bachelor's degree from Bentley University and a master of business administration, cum laude, from Babson College. He is chairman of the board for Ellis Memorial & Eldredge House. Mr. Hughes is a member of the Business Advisory Council at Bentley University.
