New role for experienced leader in transaction banking highlights series of appointments in strategic sales and product development areas
NEW YORK, September 23, 2016 – BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services, has appointed Dominic Broom global head of trade sales for the company's Treasury Services business. The new role for Broom, an experienced transaction banking leader who previously served as head of sales & relationship management for EMEA, highlights a series of Treasury Services appointments focused on key areas of sales and product development.
Other appointments announced by BNY Mellon's Treasury Services business include Elaine Friedman moving into a new role as head of global product planning, analysis and strategic support; Chris Mager named head of global innovation; Mark Ridley named to a new position as head of financial institutions sales & relationship management for North America; and Joanne Scheier appointed head of corporates sales & relationship management for North America.

Holding an Honours Law degree from the University of London, Broom began his banking career in 1994 with the Chase Manhattan Bank's MBA training program. He later served with Warburg Dillon Read in London, GE Capital's European Equipment Finance division, and ABN AMRO in Amsterdam before joining BNY Mellon in 2006. Formerly the strategy and innovation team leader for Treasury Services, Friedman joined BNY Mellon in 1981. Since then, she has held various positions in technology, product management, sales, and operations. A veteran of nearly 30 years of service with BNY Mellon, Mager previously was the head of market segments, leading a team responsible for strategic development, industry expertise, new product development, sales and marketing strategy, and segment governance. Ridley joined BNY Mellon in October 2015 from Deutsche Bank in London where he was the Head of Northern Europe, Cash Management Sales. During his 25-year banking career, he has also held positions with Wells Fargo, JPMorgan and Nordea Bank. Corporate segment market manager before her current appointment, Scheier has served in a number of leadership roles during her more than 30 years with BNY Mellon, including global head of account management and client onboarding, global head of client support, and chief administrative officer of Treasury Services.
