BNY Mellon Opens a New Wealth Management Office in the Cayman Islands

New Location to Expand Firm's Global Capabilities to Serve International Clients

NEW YORK and CAYMAN Islands, January 23, 2012 — After 30 years of serving international clients through local business partners in the Cayman Islands, BNY Mellon's wealth management business recently opened its first office on Grand Cayman. The move is the latest of steps BNY Mellon's International Wealth Management group has taken to expand its reach.

BNY Mellon's IWM group focuses on the wealth and investment planning, trust and estate planning and private banking needs of high net worth clients around the globe. Peter Moertl heads the company's IWM offices in New York, London, Hong Kong, and, now, in the Cayman Islands. BNY Mellon also has a wealth management presence in Toronto.

Patrizia Bruzio, vice president for International Wealth Management Wealth Advisory Services is general manager and director of the BNY Mellon Trust Company (Cayman) Ltd. She is based in Grand Cayman which will serve as a base enhancing the Cayman Trust Company and other international trust opportunities.

"As BNY Mellon strengthens its focus on global markets, we embarked on a strategic reorganization of our international operations, established our presence in Toronto, and are further expanding with our new office in the Cayman Islands, Moertl said. The new space is located in Camana Bay one of the Island's newest office, retail and entertainment complexes. Bruzio said she already has made two local hires and the business features prominently in the firm's expansion plans for its international wealth management division.
