Will Lead Performance and Risk Analysis to Support Oversight of Asset Managers
NEW YORK AND LONDON, May 9, 2013 — BNY Mellon Investment Management has named Bruce Feibel as head of performance analytics with responsibility for leading performance and risk analysis processes to support oversight of BNY Mellon’s investment managers. In this newly created position, Feibel reports to Cynthia Steer, head of manager research and investment solutions.
“Bruce will play a key role as we strive to deliver outstanding investment performance for our clients,” said Steer. “He will lead our efforts to analyze the factors that drive returns and create risks for BNY Mellon’s investment strategies and portfolios.”
“Our aim is to ensure that the senior managers across our investment management business fully appreciate the factors impacting investment performance,” said Feibel. “We will continue to enhance BNY Mellon’s technology infrastructure to maximize our ability to measure and assess investment performance so we can best serve our clients.”
Feibel has been with BNY Mellon since 1999, most recently as head of strategy for the Investment Services global financial business. Earlier in his career, Feibel worked at State Street Global Advisors, where he was responsible for providing performance measurement services to the marketing, portfolio management and client services teams.
Feibel serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Performance Measurement and is a member of the CFA Institute GIPS Standards Risk Management Working Group. He wrote Investment Performance Measurement and co-authored Complying with the Global Investment Performance Standards.
Feibel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and holds the designation of chartered financial analyst.
