Seasoned Wealth Management Professional Joins Growing Dallas Office
NEW YORK and DALLAS, September 21, 2011 — BNY Mellon has hired Rod Riggins to be Sales Director for its wealth management business in Texas. Reporting to Executive Director Erich Smith, Riggins is responsible for new business development by connecting families and foundations with BNY Mellon Wealth Management's broad and deep range of capabilities and products.
Riggins has been in financial services for 30 years, and spent the past 22 years at U.S. Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management as a sales director.
"Rod has a strong record of achievement in this field and we're delighted to have him join BNY Mellon," Smith said. "As our Dallas office expands in the coming year, he's sure to play a key role in growing our presence and success in Texas so we can better serve our existing clients and continue to attract new clients." BNY Mellon has tripled the size of its Dallas office staff in the past year and plans to add another professional by year end, Smith said. The office is also on track to increase its new business total by 50% over last year, he added.
Riggins is a chartered financial analyst and earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and his master of business administration from Southern Methodist University.
Riggins is co-chair of the Undergraduate Business Student Mentoring Program at SMU and is on the advisory board of the Dallas Theater Center.
