Monique Herena, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at BNY Mellon, has been named to the Board of Directors of the HR Policy Association, the lead public policy organization of chief human resource officers representing the largest employers doing business in the United States and globally.
“We are in the midst of one of the most challenging periods in human resource policy that we have seen in decades,” said Mirian M. Graddick-Weir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the HR Policy Association and Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Merck & Co., Inc. “Monique’s involvement in the leadership of our Association in developing programs, positions and initiatives to influence the direction of that debate will help advance the interests of our members as well as the HR profession.”

Herena is a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee, the organization’s most senior management body, which oversees day-to-day operations. She is an Advisory Council Member of HR People + Strategy, and a graduate and faculty member of the Cornell ILR School CHRO Top Seat program. She also completed the National Academy of Human Resources Foundation’s CHRO Academy and Kellogg School of Management Women’s Director Program. Herena holds a B.A. in communication studies from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside and an M.A. in communication studies from Northern Illinois University. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in organizational psychology, with a concentration in change leadership, at Columbia University and will graduate in May 2017.
