BNY Mellon clinched the much coveted Custodian of the Year and Most Innovative Project at the Custody Risk Global Awards in London.
Custody Risk Global Awards 2016 were chosen by an independent panel of judges and recognize outstanding achievers in custody, fund administration and securities services. BNY Mellon also demonstrated its global reach by picking up awards for Custodian of the Year Germany, Custodian of the Year United States and the company's Canadian joint venture, CIBC Mellon, secured Custodian of the Year Canada.
BNY Mellon won plaudits for client diversity, in particular its capability of servicing a wide spectrum of large and small clients. The judging panel called next generation client portal NEXEN® “a breakthrough technology” and also praised BNY Mellon for its strong commitment to digital change. NEXEN is an open-source, cloud-based technology platform and is the biggest technology transformation program in BNY Mellon’s history. The platform consolidates the company’s services, third party and client solutions on a single intuitive company-wide platform.
“We are extremely proud to have won five awards across multiple categories and for NEXEN to be singled out by the judges,” said Samir Pandiri, CEO of Asset Servicing at BNY Mellon. “We are working closely with clients on technology solutions through our global network of innovation centers. These are highly collaborative centers where we can spend time sharing our technology, understanding our client’s challenges and working together to co-create solutions with our NEXEN ecosystem.”
BNY Mellon’s data analytics solutions also played a pivotal part in securing Custody Risk’s most Innovative Project of the Year Award. This was given to Asset Strategy View, a big data solution that leverages aggregated client data to generate market intelligence around institutional investor allocations and behavior. It collects, aggregates and normalizes data on more than $1.7 trillion of assets, representing about 20% of the investable asset owner market in the U.S.
