BNY Mellon has today been named in The Times newspaper’s Top 50 Employers for Women 2017 in recognition of being a leader in workplace gender equality in the UK.
The annual list, supported by the gender equality campaign at Business in the Community (BITC), identifies British employers making gender equality a key part of their business strategy, who create inclusive workplace cultures and progress women in the workforce across all levels of their organization.
In its seventh year, the Top 50 Employers for Women list has a comprehensive submission process managed by the gender equality campaign team at BITC.
Commenting on the award, Susan Revell, BNY Mellon’s General Counsel & Chief Controls Officer EMEA and EMEA executive sponsor for the company’s gender employee resource group known as WIN, said: “It is incredibly pleasing to see BNY Mellon being recognized for our substantial commitment to gender parity. We are very proud to be included in this year’s Top 50 companies, but what fills me with even greater optimism is that the conversation around diversity within the financial services industry as a whole is moving beyond gender.
“What started as correcting a gender imbalance has now evolved into the realization that organizations need diversity of thought and culture not merely of demographics. Diversity in all its dimensions and at all levels is now widely perceived as integral to a healthy organizational culture and delivering good corporate governance.”
