Risk Management and Social Finance Investing

May 28, 2015

In 2015, we continue to see that our clients and the market have a laser-like focus on risk measurement, management and mitigation. Debra Baker, Head of Global Risk Solutions, discusses the recent trends and how investment practices have expanded in the area of Environment, Social, Corporate Governance (ESG) investing. To address this evolving practice, BNY Mellon has a research partnership with the University of Cambridge and will seek to better understand the market’s definition of “materiality,” looking at how global companies, institutional investors and asset owners are approaching and defining ESG. In addition, BNY Mellon will re-engage with Dr. Harry Markowitz to explore the impact of ESG investing relative to financial performance.
