BNY Mellon Asset Servicing Wins “Best IT Integration Initiative” at American Financial Technology Awards

JANUARY 6, 2023

BNY Mellon today announced that its Asset Servicing team has won an American Financial Technology award from WatersTechnology for its work to automate critical operations processes.

The Information Delivery team within BNY Mellon Asset Servicing earned the honor for developing a new platform that automates the way BNY Mellon and its clients exchange key data for transaction processing. The new interface could eliminate the need for emails or phone calls, helping to reduce risk, cost and effort spent completing time-sensitive processes.

Waters Technology, the award’s sponsor, said: "BNY Mellon wins the best IT integration initiative category in this year’s AFTAs on the back of the platform it developed that increases levels of automation around the daily interactions between capital markets firms, traditionally conducted via email. Not only does it significantly reduce manual processing for operations teams, but it also enhances transparency and operational resilience around their various mission-critical processes."

BNY Mellon’s Information Delivery team is now working to identify additional opportunities to automate processes and reduce risk across the firm.

“This platform is BNY Mellon’s answer to the age-old problem of individuals undertaking critical processes over email,” said Jeremy Dobrick, Head of Technology and Operations for Asset Servicing at BNY Mellon. “This innovative solution is changing the way we communicate with clients.”

Mark Gibbons, Head of Information Delivery at BNY Mellon, added, “It’s all about performing our outcomes quickly, efficiently and securely to the mutual benefit of our clients and our operations.”
