BNY Mellon has long placed emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. Launched in November 2013, Women in Technology (WIT) is a sub-committee of the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) focused on increasing the retention, recruitment and advancement of women in technology. Women in Technology is open to all men and women in BNY Mellon who are invested in gender equality in technology.
WIN’s Women in Technology group is focused on advancing, empowering, and advocating for women in technology at all levels and all disciplines within the Technology organisation.
The Women in Technology annual celebration event was held in New York in November 2018 and was broadcast via video conference to various locations globally including Dublin and Cork.
This event featured a panel of Technology, Diversity and Inclusion leaders who shared their insights about “Looking Forward 2019 – Diversity and Inclusion in Technology”. This was a terrific opportunity to take part in an interactive session and to ask questions of some of BNY Mellon’s diversity champions.
This was an excellent networking event to celebrate the advancements made with this year’s theme to #ElevateTalent in 2018.
At the core of the #ElevateTalent theme is continued commitment to recruit top talent into the company and help develop the talent pipeline.
To help elevate BNY Mellon’s talent base, two new programmes were launched: a Leadership Learning Series that helps participants to grow their own career and Recharge, a programme designed to refresh skillsets and help participants to expand their qualifications to open up a broader set of opportunities.
