David Cruikshank is an Executive Vice President and BNY Mellon’s Chairman of Asia Pacific. He serves on the Company’s Executive Committee and chairs the Asia Pacific Leadership Council. As Chairman of Asia Pacific, he directs and manages the execution of the company’s overall business strategy in the region, which encompasses 16 locations.
Mr. Cruikshank joined BNY Mellon in 2003. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, he served as the lead executive for the Corporate and Public Finance market segment, one of the company’s four key client segments. Before that he held several leadership roles in BNY Mellon’s Treasury Services business, including serving for four years as the Chief Executive Officer of the business. In this role, he was responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the execution of the Global Payments, Trade Finance and Cash Management businesses.
With 30 years of professional experience in global financial services, Mr. Cruikshank has held senior leadership positions at Citibank and ABN AMRO Bank in both New York and Amsterdam, including European Head of Sales and Service, Global Head of Product Implementation and Head of Client Services for the Americas.
In Asia, Mr. Cruikshank serves as a Director for BNY Mellon Securities Company of Japan, Pershing Securities Australia Pty Limited, and Pershing Securities Singapore Private Ltd. He is also actively involved in Community Mental Health Alliance Hong Kong, for which BNY Mellon is a founding member, and serves on the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Lawrence University.
