Recently, we have become aware of instances of unauthorized use of our brand name (BNY Mellon) by third-parties related to the purchase of gift cards (e.g. iTunes cards) through online social networks (e.g., Facebook), messaging applications (e.g., Telegram) or telephone calls. These schemes are in no way associated with, licensed, sponsored or endorsed by The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, affiliated entities or its leadership. BNY Mellon confirms that it does not and will not solicit business or payment (in any form) through social networks, messaging applications, or telephone calls. If you receive any request for payment from an unknown channel, find any relevant suspicious information, or believe you have been a victim of fraud, please call the anti-fraud hotline 165 of the Police Department or contact your local authorities.
The Bank of New York Mellon ("BNY Mellon") Taipei Branch commenced its business in 1973 as a commercial bank in Taiwan.
In 1995, the Branch also established an "Offshore Banking Unit" to service its major U.S. retailer customers. The Branch's registered activities mainly cover deposit, loan, guarantee, foreign exchange as well as letter of credit (L/C) issuance, advising, confirmation, acceptance, reimbursement, and negotiation/renegotiation. The Branch acts as BNY Mellon's sub-processing window in Global Collections and Global Payment services for Taiwan correspondent banks, it is also one of the major international trade processing centers in BNY Mellon's worldwide network.
