BNY Mellon's Recognized in Bloomberg's Gender-Equality Index (GEI)

For a sixth consecutive year, BNY Mellon is included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a leading indicator which tracks the performance of public companies in their efforts to support gender equality through policy development, representation and transparency.


“BNY Mellon’s inclusion in Bloomberg's GEI recognizes our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and is a reflection of our efforts to support gender equality across our firm,” said Jolen Anderson, Global Head of Human Resources.


BNY Mellon has been featured in each edition of the GEI since its 2018 launch and is one of 484 companies across 11 sectors to be included this year. By providing a comprehensive, transparent scoring methodology, the GEI allows investors to assess company performance on gender parity and compare across industry peer groups, increasing the breadth of data available to investors. Companies recognized in the index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies.


“While it is encouraging that global companies are prioritizing transparency into their diversity and inclusion efforts, gender equality is still far from being a global corporate standard," Anderson added. “I am proud of the enhanced parental leave policy our firm introduced in January to support new parents, regardless of gender, and the processes we’ve implemented to build inclusion into our talent and development practices.”

Member companies represent 11 sectors, including financials, technology and utilities, and 54 industries.
