Fangfang Chen is the Asia Pacific Chair and Asia Pacific Head of Asset Servicing and Digital at BNY Mellon. She is responsible for overseeing the execution of the company’s strategic growth agenda in Asia Pacific and driving the success of the Asset Servicing and Digital business in the region. Her responsibilities also include oversight of the company’s regional structure, including regulatory and legal compliance.
As part of her role, Fangfang chairs the Asia Pacific Leadership Council, and is a member of the International Management Team and the Global Asset Servicing and Digital Executive Council.
Fangfang has a wealth of financial services and consulting experience, including 12 years at State Street, where she held numerous leadership roles in the U.S., China and Hong Kong. Her last role at State Street was Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, where she oversaw operations across multiple businesses in the region and directed transformation efforts in support of business growth. She also held management positions at Fidelity Investments and AIG, and was a consultant at US-based Strategic Decisions Group, where she advised Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Fangfang was the Chief Operating Officer and founding member of Algorand Foundation, a fintech start-up involved in the development of blockchain technology to enable frictionless finance. There she oversaw strategy, ecosystem partnerships, business incubation and global community development.
Fangfang holds a Master of Business Administration from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China.
Fangfang is on the board of Chunhui Children’s Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing professional care to orphaned, left-behind and marginalized children in China.
