FDIC Insurance Coverage

Discontinuation of BNY Mellon's Participation in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program

Effective January 1, 2010, the following FDIC-insured bank subsidiaries of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation will cease participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program: BNY Mellon, National Association; The Bank of New York Mellon; The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, National Association; BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware, and Mellon United National Bank. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all non-interest bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

Effective January 1, 2010, funds held in non-interest bearing transaction accounts will no longer be guaranteed in full under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, but will be insured up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

For these purposes, the term 'transaction accounts' also includes interest-bearing checking accounts with interest rates of 0.50% or less, and Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA/IOLA).

Deposit insurance information is available on the FDIC's website at www.fdic.gov.

FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013.
