2012 Outlook

Global Growth Recession Expected

BNY Mellon's Chief Economist Richard Hoey considers the prospects for the global economy in 2012. He believes global monetary easing that is occurring around the world will likely drive a global growth recession, instead of a full-scale recession in the coming year. Hoey expects very disparate patterns to the global growth recession in regions around the world. The economies of Europe, Asia, the United States and the emerging markets will see different economic realities due to the growth recession in the coming year, according to Hoey.
