Paul Brain is investment leader of the fixed income team at Newton, BNY Mellon's London-based global asset management subsidiary. Paul is also chairman of Newton's bond/FX strategy group and lead manager for its Global Dynamic Bond Fund.
Before joining Newton in 2004, Paul held senior fixed-income positions within the industry at Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was head of currency overlay and European fixed income; Investec Asset Management (formerly Guinness Flight), where he was head of retail fixed income; and MSG & Partners (Partners Asset Management), where he was Chief Investment Officer for fixed income. The Investec team under his leadership was awarded "Fixed Interest Manager of the Year" in 2000 by International Money Marketing.
Paul, whose investment experience spans 30 years, manages a range of global funds for Newton. In addition, he is a member of the firm's investment strategy group, its asset class strategy group and the investment committee. Paul holds Stage II qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
