Lale Akoner is an Investment Analyst in BNY Mellon Investment Management's Center for Global Investment and Market Intelligence group. Her responsibilities include contributing to Investment Management's knowledge platform through analysis of global investment trends, geopolitical risk, and market activity.
Before joining BNY Mellon in July 2012, Lale worked at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, conducting quantitative research in empirical finance and economics. She also taught numerous courses in mathematics, macroeconomics and finance at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
A native of Turkey, Lale received her BA degree in economics as the highest ranking student from one of the nation's leading academic institutions, Bilkent University. She also earned an MA degree in economics from Yale University and a MSIA degree from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business.
