Chris Harris is an Investment Strategist in the Investment Strategy and Solutions Group within BNY Mellon Investment Management, working with institutional clients on issues related to their investment policy and asset allocation decisions. The Group focuses on three major functions: advice and strategy, asset allocation and portfolio construction, and multi-asset portfolio management. It serves clients ranging from retail intermediaries to highly sophisticated institutions.
Chris started his professional career at BNY Mellon in 2005, working in London as a liability-driven investment portfolio manager for Insight Investment. During a period of change and development for the LDI market, he worked initially to develop and support solution portfolios for defined-benefit pension schemes, insurance companies and other large institutional clients. Over the course of his time at Insight he managed on a discretionary basis a number of large-scale LDI solutions for blue-chip companies. He moved to Tokyo in December of 2010, and in 2011 started to work for the Investment Strategy & Solutions Group. He now works closely with clients in the Asia-Pacific area, structuring solutions which use the full range of BNY Mellon's capabilities to achieve defined investment outcomes.
Chris graduated from the University of Bristol in the UK with a BA in English Literature. In 2009 he gained his CFA certification. As well as keeping abreast of developments within the financial sector, he maintains a particular interest in monetary economics and central banking.
