Christopher Sturdy is a senior executive in BNY Mellon's Platinum Client Group, which is responsible for managing and developing key strategic relationships with select key clients.

Since joining BNY Mellon in 1982, Chris has held key leadership positions, including roles as Chairman of Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Officer of the Depositary Receipts business. Currently based in New York, Chris has spent significant portions of his career based in London and Hong Kong.

As Chairman of Asia Pacific, a role he held from 2008-2011, Chris coordinated and executed the company's overall business strategy for the region and oversaw client management. He chaired the Asia Pacific Management Committee, served as the company's primary representative with the local regulatory authorities and oversaw regional efforts on employee engagement and talent management.

Prior to that, Chris was CEO of the company's Depositary Receipts business, which is the worldwide leader in depositary receipts. He was involved in the Depositary Receipts business for 20 years since early privatizations in the UK and subsequently throughout the globalization of the equity markets in Asia, Latin America and Eastern and Central Europe.

Chris has for many years contributed to articles published in the press and industry periodicals and is a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide.

He has a BSc degree in Economics and Spanish from Duke University in North Carolina.
