Susan Skerritt leads the Business Strategy and & Market Solutions group within the Treasury Services business of BNY Mellon. In this role, she is responsible for driving the ongoing development of new and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Prior to this role, Susan led the Strategy, Development and Investment group of the Financial Markets & Treasury Services (FMTS) group of businesses. In that role she led the successful creation and development of the FMTS Innovation Program, and the design and development of several key innovations, including Environmental Innovation Solutions. She was also responsible for the effective expansion of the Investment Management Group.
Since joining BNY Mellon in 2006, Susan has been involved with several high-profile projects and products. She had business management responsibility for the Corporate Trust CDO product during a period of extensive internal transitions and external market upheaval. The CDO business, which provides administrative and trustee services for highly structured collateralized pools of debt, contributed more than $350 million in annual revenue in 2007 and has over 1,100 relationship management, analytics and loan processing professionals in six U.S. and European locations.
Susan also served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Corporate Trust. In that role, she co-led the complex global integration and conversion efforts associated with the company’s acquisition of JPMorgan Chase’s corporate trust business.
Susan serves on BNY Mellon’s Operating Committee, the Global Diversity and Inclusion Council, and the Women’s Initiatives Network (WIN) Executive Committee.
Before joining BNY Mellon, Susan was a partner of Treasury Strategies, Inc., where she was responsible for the Corporate Consulting practice and management of the firm’s New York office. She joined Treasury Strategies in 1998 after serving for more than twenty years in increasingly senior positions at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, Ernst & Young and Morgan Stanley, primarily in the areas of treasury management, global custody and international treasury.
Susan has an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University and a BA degree in Economics from Hamilton College, where she serves as a Charter Trustee on the Board of the College. In addition, she is a member of the board of Brooklyn Community Services, one of the oldest and largest agencies in the borough, offering a diverse array of social services to the local community. She is married with one child and lives in Brooklyn Heights.
