As Global Head of Learning and Organizational Development, Dan Lovely is responsible for the design and execution of the company's learning and development programs and processes. This includes MyDevelopment, MyLearning, performance management, talent assessment, 360 feedback, workforce planning and organization design.
Dan joined BNY Mellon in 2010 after working in a number of industries including health care, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, government and banking. Originally a geoscientist, Dan has gained extensive business experience, including serving as Head of Strategy and Long-term Planning for British Petroleum (BP) Americas.
During the merger of BP and Amoco, he led BP Exploration's culture change and transition management efforts, which included identifying global talent and assessing staffing needs within the merged organization. For his last 10 years with BP, Dan worked in Human Resources, first as BP Exploration's Global Head of Learning and Organizational Development and later as Global Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. Under his leadership, BP received the 2006 Catalyst Award for initiatives resulting in the recruitment, development and advancement of women in the workplace.
