Chief Security Officer
Tim Masluk is Chief Security Officer and a Managing Director at BNY Mellon, assuming this role in June 2011 after more than six years as Director of Global Security for Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon subsidiary. Tim directs and supervises a worldwide security program that encompasses investigations as well as the physical protection of corporate assets, employees, clients and executives. He serves on the company's Crisis Management, Contingency Planning and Anti-Money Laundering teams, as well as the Risk and Compliance, Privacy Steering and Sensitive Issues Oversight committees. Tim also serves as the U.S. Chair of BNY Mellon's Boots to Business business resource group, which oversees the company's returning military initiatives.
Prior to Pershing, Tim spent 22 years with the U.S. Secret Service where he held a variety of positions in the field and headquarters, including the Presidential Protective Division and the Counter-Assault Team. He has extensive international investigative and protective experience, having worked in the Middle East, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and sub-Sahara Africa. Upon retirement from the Secret Service, Tim accepted a post-September 11 appointment from the newly formed Department of Homeland Security as the first acting Special Agent in charge of the Newark field office of the Federal Air Marshal Service.
For the past 17 years, Tim has been involved with the Marty Lyons Foundation, founded by a former New York Jets football player to grant wishes to critically and chronically ill children with life-threatening diseases. A former football player and passionate fan, Tim is affiliated with two of the oldest football clubs in the U.S. as a member of the Maxwell Football Club and board member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
A member of the Chief Security Officers Board of the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund, the International Security Manager Association and the New York City Bankers and Brokers Security Roundtable, Tim is also a supporter of the Fisher House Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, Reserve Aid and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
A graduate of Kutztown University in eastern Pennsylvania, Tim is the father of two.
