In 1973, the Bank opened a branch office and in 2006 established The Bank of New York Securities Company Japan Ltd., now called The Bank of New York Mellon Securities Company Japan Ltd.
BNY Mellon Asset Management Japan Limited was established in 1998 to provide asset management services both for institutional and retail investors in Japan. All are now wholly owned subsidiaries of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
