Steven G. Elliott
Senior Vice Chairman

Steven Elliott is Senior Vice Chairman of BNY Mellon and is responsible for the company's corporate affairs and marketing activities. In addition, the internal audit function reports to him administratively. BNY Mellon is the corporate brand of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (NYSE:BK).
He previously served as co-head of the global effort to integrate the people, technology and capabilities of The Bank of New York and Mellon Financial.
Prior to the July 2007 merger, Mr. Elliott was responsible for Mellon's asset servicing, payment solutions and investor services businesses, along with institutional banking, finance, treasury, technology, corporate operations and real estate. He also served as a director of Mellon Bank, N.A.
He was a director of Mellon Financial Corporation from 2001 until its July 2007 merger with The Bank of New York, and a director of The Bank of New York Mellon through July 31, 2008.
Mr. Elliott joined Mellon in 1987 as executive vice president and head of the finance department. He was named chief financial officer in 1990, vice chairman in 1992 and senior vice chairman in 1998.
Previously, Mr. Elliott served as an executive vice president and chief financial officer of First Commerce Corporation, and was senior vice president and corporate controller at Crocker National Bank. Before joining Crocker, Mr. Elliott served as a senior vice president for Continental Illinois National Bank, and as vice president and corporate controller at First Interstate Bank of California.
Mr. Elliott is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives Institute and The Financial Services Roundtable. He serves on the boards of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and UPMC Health System.
A native of Delta, Colorado, Mr. Elliott received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
