Michael Cole-Fontayn

Chairman, EMEA and Chief Executive Officer, Depositary Receipts

Michael Cole-Fontayn is an Executive Vice President and Chairman of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Chief Executive Officer of BNY Mellon's Depositary Receipts business.

As Chairman of EMEA, Michael leads the company's local management team in executing our strategic plans and accelerating the company's growth across this vital region. As CEO of Depositary Receipts, he manages a worldwide staff of 250 DR professionals, responsible for supporting more than 2,000 clients globally across 74 countries.

Based in London, Michael is also a member of the company's Executive Committee, the organization's most senior management body, which oversees day-to-day operations.

Michael has been with the company since 1984 and within the DR business since 1992. During that time he has worked on many DR equity capital raising transactions, including numerous privatisations and equity offerings around the world. Previously, Michael ran BNY Mellon's Issuer Services Group in Hong Kong for seven years, from 1993-2000. His committee memberships at BNY Mellon include the Operating Committee, European Executive Management Committee, and Markets and Infrastructure Committee; he is also a member of the UK All Party Parliamentary Corporate Governance Group.

Chair of the BNY Mellon Charity/Community Affairs Programme, Michael is also Executive Sponsor of the European Philanthropy and Networking activities.

He is a graduate of Westminster University (PCL) with a B.A. in business administration, and holds FSA (Corporate Finance) Regulated and Tax Commissioner accreditation.
