Arthur Certosimo


A member of both the Executive and Operating Committees of BNY Mellon, Arthur (Art) manages the company's broker-dealer services business, which delivers collateral management and securities clearance services to financial institutions and corporations worldwide. In addition, he manages the Alternative Investment Services division which delivers administration and financial services to hedge funds. For both businesses, Art oversees all client services, product management, sales, operations and technology activities on a global basis. BNY Mellon is the corporate brand of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (NYSE:BK).

In the area of broker-dealer services, BNY Mellon is a leader and innovator, and has developed service solutions that have become the industry model. The Company is the largest U.S. securities clearance agent, handling half of all U.S. government clearing volume, and a leading collateral management agent, servicing over $1.8 trillion daily in tri-party balances. The Alternative Investment Services team has over $215 billion in assets under administration.

Art serves as a member of the Board of Directors of DTCC, is Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Promontory Interfinancial Network and is a member of the Board of Directors of International Derivatives Clearing Group (IDCG). In addition, he serves on a number of committees dedicated to delivering actionable solutions to issues facing the financial services industry. Among them: the Treasury Market Practices Group (TMPG), the Tri-party Repurchase Agreement Infrastructure Task Force formed by the Federal Reserve Payments System Risk (PSR) Committee, DTCC's Derivatives Operations and Planning Committee, DTCC's Membership and Risk Management Committee, The Industry Working Group on Payments System Risk Policy Change, and The NewBank Working Group.

He is also a member of the Board of Advisors of Rutgers Business School, and is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service. Before joining The Bank of New York in his current capacity in 1998, Art was a principal of Morgan Stanley Asset Management (MSAM), where he managed customer information services worldwide. This division included all client service administration, marketing support, and the performance/analytics services group. Prior to this, he was a vice president at The Chase Manhattan Bank's Global Investor Services group, where he established and managed the global customer service organization and was responsible for delivering all clients service, operations, performance measurement and consulting services to Chase's institutional clients worldwide.

Art holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Rutgers College at Rutgers University. He also holds an MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
